I just watched the worst movie of all time. I regret wasting my time watching it, but then again, I don’t even remember the movie or its scenes at all even though I just finished watching it.
it was cringe, slimy and super pathetic to even begin with.
Yesterday, I embarked on a new project that I have to finish, which also involved a bit of animation. So, as I started my animation project, I realized, I need to watch something along with it. And as I began searching for movies to watch on Netflix, I stumbled upon this movie that had recently been added. I wouldn’t mention the name of it, as I don’t really want to offend the people who actually like it.
Honestly, when I had watched the trailer of it just a few weeks ago, I really liked it. The dark gothic romance vibe that it gave truly fascinated me. And its unique music style allured my mind. I am not a huge romance fan, but I like other-worldly love stories and this looked like the one that I would somehow enjoy. So, I was excited to watch this while I animated my work.
But let me tell you, as soon as it even began, I knew where this was going. A girl, who just became an orphan ends up going to the orphanage, making us pity the main character, to make us like her and her background.
Which is something that is very commonly used in love stories, to make us like that character. I personally think of it as a lazy attempt to make us instantly gravitate towards the main characters. But, I still feel like the writers need to stop focusing on pity to make the characters likeable or relatable. We want to see more of the personality in the character, which the movie totally lacks. There is no depth in between the characters, but they have this instant connection and chemistry towards each other which is soo hard to watch.
Like, how does that guy, suddenly start liking that girl for no reason at all, and suddenly the girl starts liking him too, which looks so forced at times.
Half way through, it just gave me fifty shades of grey vibes, where the main focus enhanced more of the sexual attraction that the characters had towards each other.
somewhere, the girl would all of a sudden start talking about her point of view out loud, and how she viewed the male lead. And the male lead had these really cheesy dialogues like, for example,
This girl gets close to him, and he says, “don’t come near me or I’ll….”
And the girl say, “Or What…. what will you do.”
And this guy growls at her in sexual frustration, “or I won’t be able to hold myself back.”
WTF!!!
Like… I couldn’t stop laughing. I had to actually pause the movie and go to safari and type, “Is this movie a Wattpad adaptation?”
Because, when you look at the dialogues, it feels like it was definitely a Wattpad novel that got made into a movie, which is happening a lot these days.
But to my surprise, this movie is not an adaptation of a Wattpad novel, Like WHAT??!!!
who even thought of writing such dialogues that it makes the viewer cringe so hard that they want to faint right then and there.
AAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
I couldn’t watch it any further, so I had to take a break.
And so, I went to sleep.
The next morning, I was again adding little touches to my animation, when I remembered about the movie I left half-way through the previous night and decided to finish it as I didn’t really have anything else to watch.
But, now I regret even watching the ending. like WTF!!
I don’t even want to cuss, but I can’t help it.
These people fall into the river, but only the guy ends up in a coma somehow, and guess what the doctor says?
“He broke the fall to save you, and so he is in coma now.”
LIKE WTF!!!! didn’t both of them fall in at the same time?? and what break the fall.
THERE WAS ONLY WATER BENEATH, SO HOW WAS HE EVEN BREAKING THE FALL TO SAVE HER.
AND HOW HARD WAS THE WATER THAT HE HIT HIS HEAD AND WENT INTO A COMA?!!!
I just couldn’t take it anymore.
I can’t
I’m so done with this film.
sooo done.
I’m frustrated to my core.
All I wanna do now is actually go to reddit and read the reviews..
.
.
.
oh, I actually had to pause my writing and go read the reviews, and let me tell you. The reviews are on my side. They hated the movie as much as I did.
I mean, I loved the aesthetic and the music of the film, but what were you doing with these cringey cheezy dialogues.
I mean who writes such things.
I’m going to faint even writing this.
Okay, I’m going to end now.
Bye Bye.
Yours truly,
SEA
