How to take better care of your hair.

How to take better care of your hair.

I have read somewhere, that the meaning of hairfall is, when you don’t grow hair at all, and only keep loosing it.

But we always confuse hairfall with re-growth, because as soon as we see a little bit of hairfall, we think our world has fallen apart, because we assume, it must be hairfall only.

But, don’t panic yet. First check, if your hair is growing for the replacement of your hair falling, because if it is, then it is not considered as hairfall. But if the hair, is not growing and only falling, then that is considered as hairfall.

Know the difference, my love.

Here,I am going to cover somethings that I myself use in my daily life.

1. Know your hair, and identify if it is really a hairfall that your experiencing or just a re-growth.

In my hostel days, I was always that kid who had long and silky hair, and they all said, that it was because I ate fish and I was from a coastal area. Well, according to me, that wasn’t true. I had good hair, because my mother took alot of care of my hair.

Once, you know your hair, you will be able to accept it, and not think of it as somethng that you want to change, or something that you are not really proud of in your body.

Because, we first need to change the mentality, of exaggerating the idea of hairfall, and talking bad about our hair. And this applies not only for our hair, but also for any part of the body that you dislike.

Start accepting every part of your body

2. Regularly oil your hair.

In indian homes, it is a must to oil your hair regularly. And I have been oiling my hair, for the longest time that I can remember.

Oiling helps nourish your hair, and prevents dandruff, which is the main problem of hairfall. Like how you nourish your skin, by applying moisturizer, likewise, your hair needs nourishment too.

So, oil when you are doing your self-care. And trust me, when you wash your hair after two three days of oiling, you will see an amazing difference in the texture of your hair, to when it was washed without oiling.

I have tried both ways. I have tried not putting oil in my hair for a long time, and regularly washed it without oiling, and I noticed my scalp was getting drier, because it just didnot get the nourishment it needed. And the texture changed too.

So, always remember, nourishment is important.

and I woould also like to add, that the hair packs that we use, is just an instant nourishment for the hair, to save your time, but you must know that store-bought hair masks contain alot of chemicals and can give you amazing hair temporarily, but you must also know that it is not good for a long term use.

so, oiling is way better.

The oil that I use is:

1.Coconut oil, with grapefruit essential oil.

2.Plain coconut oil.

Coconut oil, with neem leaves:
recipe to make this oil:
We need to put the neem leaves in the coconut oil, while it is on the stove. We need both of the ingredients to fully simmer, and then once it is done, we can put it aside, and let it cool before we store it.

If you can’t put oil in your hair for two to three days, there is another way to save time and nourish your hair:

The night before washing your hair, make sure to warm the oil of your choice, and then apply it on the roots of your hair, and comb it, so that the oil goes to every part of our hair.

And then braid your hair and go to sleep.( this is optional, but if you want to grow your hair, then braiding helps alot.)

3. Hair masks.

Here are some homemade hair mask recipes that I use for my hair.

1. Alovera.

this is the simplest and easiest to use. You just have to take the pulp out of the aloevera, and grind it and apply it to you hair an hour before you wash your hair. You can also add some essential oils.

2. Rice water.

I personally use two to three drops of grapefruit essential oil.

There are many ways to make rice water, but the best one that I personally like is, the boiled rice water.

It is basicaly made by boiling the rice, with three times the water amount than the actual amount of rice, and once the rice is fully cooked, drain the water and your rice-water is ready.

NOw from here also, you can let the water sit for a day in the dark, and then pop it in the fridge, or you instantly apply it to your hair once it is cooled.

I prefer, letting it sit for a day, to get it fermented which serves way better. Because fermentting helps produce bacteria, which is good for your hair.

3. Rice water with neem leaves.

Neem leaves play a huge role for everything in india, for healing and for almost everything.

This method requires you to soak the rice in three times the water overnight, (after washing the rice for atleast two or three times), and then cooking the rice in the same water, and draining the water in a separate bowl once the rice is cooked.

Take the rice water and again put it on the stove and add the washed neem leaves to it, and stir it until it is fully boiled and the colour of the leaves start to change to a shade darker. That is when you know to stop.

Then let this water cool and store it in a ceramic utensil in a dark place for about a week, to get it perfectly fermented.

It might smell a little bad after a week, but that is because we want exactly that.

Apply this mask to your hair an hour before washing your hair, and voila. It is done.

4. Buckwheat mask.

Buchwheat is very very famous in India, and goes by the name, ‘reetha’, here in India.

I soak the buckwheat in water overnight, and then simmer the same water and buckwheat, the next morning.

Once the water is cooled, separate the water from the buckwheat, and the shampoo water is ready.

You can store this water in the fridge, and use it whenever you want to wask your hair.

All you have to do with the water is, put the water in the blender, and mix it, till it becomes foamy like a shampoo, and would somewhat appear lke wipped cream.

That is when you know, that your shampoo is ready.

You can also add a little bit of apple cider vinegar before blending the ater into a shampoo.

I usually let this shampoo sit in my hair for fifteen minutes or so, and then wash off my hair.

5. Coffee and curd hair mask.

This particular mask, on pinterest itself. And every sinse I tried it, it has done wonders to my hair.

Add coffe and curd to a bowl and a spoonful of honey and apply i in your hair an hour before washing it.

I do this hair mask quiet alot, becauseit has simple ingredients in it, which are almost always there in the kitchen.

And now that we have spoken about almost all of hair care, I woul like to conclude by saying that, you don’t nee to stress so much about your hair, because that also causes hairfall. Be calm, and love your hair.

Ok then, take care and have an amazing day ahead.

Lots of love.
